Why we like it ...
Everybody knows Nero D'Avolas from Sicily which are available in all different qualities and intensities. When Cassara presented this really adult charming wine based on the traditional French cuvee we couldn't resist.
The wine has great character and it's smooth velvety structure will charm you away.
The grapes are harvested by hand and the maceration is done without stems of course. We do enjoy the quality and spirit this brings to the wine.
What does it taste like ...
Intense ruby red with heady scents of maraschino, blueberries and plum, well balanced with hints of chocolate and liquorice.
Served at 15-16 degrees, this velvety red is excellent with roasted meat, grilled meat, game, casseroles or with aged cheese.
